Frequently Asked Questions

Under 16 and want to race?

No Problem! As long as you are at least 12 years of age or older and 60” tall, you can race. We also have one kart that can accommodate people of 55’’ tall. New Junior karts will be available really soon! If you are under 18, you need to present yourself with an adult to register in. An adult must be present during the registration to sign the waiver form, but doesn’t need to stay for the entire race. No assent will be accepted by phone, paper note or email. We require a piece of identification for security purposes. A driver’s licence, a health card or passport can be accepted.

How many people can race at a time?

For security purposes, we have a maximum of 12 drivers on the track at the time so if you have more than 12 racers in your group, we will be in the obligation of organizing separate races.

Is it possible to race against my group only?

Even thought we would like to be able let all of our customers race by themselves, it is sometimes impossible for us to do so if it is busy. If you are less then 12 racers in your group, you could be matched up with other racers.

What is the proper attire to come Top Karting?

We recommend that our customers wear comfortable clothing and we would like to advise our customers that in some cases, their clothes may get dirty and stained. We do not recommend light color clothing or expensive clothing. We provide a cover all to all of our customers, despite the fact that it is not mandatory to wear it, we strongly recommend it.

Can I wear sandals during the activity?

It is highly recommended to have proper shoe attire (a close shoe) to race at Top Karting, sandals are still allowed and we strongly dissuade our customers to wear high hills. An additional waiver form may be requested to fill out.

Do I need to bring my own helmet? What if I don’t have one?

It is mandatory for everybody to wear a helmet and we do provide it for free to all our customers. We also provide a hair net to all our customers in order to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the helmets. We allow our customers to bring their own helmets as long as it has a full face visor and it also has to be a DOT approved helmet. Every helmet brought by customers is left at the discretion of the employees.

 

Other important details :

  • It is mandatory to tie your hair up if your hairs are below your shoulders. We dissuade our customers to wear big hair pins or hair accessories as well as to have a high hairstyle as it may cause discomfort while wearing the helmet. Scarves are not allowed as well.
  • You will need to receive a security briefing prior to race. The security briefing is mandatory for all of our customers, at every visit.
  • No contact between Karts will be tolerated on the track. ‘’No Bumping Allowed’’. If there is contact on the track, you may get expel from the race and not refund will be given.

Frequently Asked Special Events Questions

Can I make a reservation?

If you have a group of at least 8 people and you can prepay the even in total, you have the possibility to reserve a date and time to ensure that you don’t encounter any wait time. If you are able to book a time, we highly recommend doing so.

And if I have a group of less then 8 people?

Unfortunately we don’t take reservation for groups of less then 8 people. You can still show up anytime on a first come first serve base. Don’t hesitate to Contact Us and inform yourself about the availability for the day.

Can we bring our own food and beverages?

Due to insurance and liability reasons we do not allow any outside food or beverages.  The only item that may be brought in is a cake with candles. For more information about the options available to you, contact your Event Coordinator.

At what time should we show up for my reservation?

The hour you specified while reserving is the time that we are expecting you. We assume 30 minutes on our time to receive your group and get you ready, fill up the waiver forms and make up teams (if you have a group of more then 12 people). You will then be sent to the briefing room, explained the safety rules and prepared for the track. Please note that in the event where a reservation is late for their race; we reserve ourselves the right to give priority to other customers and you will be given the next spot available. Please contact us if anything comes up.

Is a deposit required to make a reservation?

The event must be prepaid in full for your whole group ahead of time. You also have up to three days before the date of the event for a complete or partial refund. Your reservation will only be confirmed upon reception of the payment.  And what happens if I couldn’t notice you within the 3-day notice required for refund?  You are entitled to gift certificates for the people that didn’t show up, or you can also post-pone your whole event to another date (subject to availability).

What are the benefits of taking a reservation?

For reservations only, we offer group rates that vary depending on the number of people in your group and the day of the week that you’re planning to come. If your time is limited, a reservation ensures that you don’t wait and a service customized to your needs. A podium presentation is also offered after your race while giving away the individual statistics sheets.

I have decided that I want to book at Top Karting, what do I do next?

Frequently Asked Questions about our Karts

  • All our Karts are mechanically the same. (9 HP) The power may vary depending on skill, height and weight of the driver.
  • Our Karts may reach a speed that can vary approximately between 60 KM/H and 70 KM/H. The speed may vary depending on skill, height and weight of the driver.
  • All of our Karts are ‘’Racing’’ type Karts. We do have 2 smaller karts in order to accommodate our younger customers, but the minimum height remains 4’ 7’’.
  • The track is approximately ¼ Mile long. (402 Metres or 0,4 KM approximately)
  • Our employees are always available to advise you on the best driving method to adopt.

 

Frequently Asked Questions about our Bar

  • Our establishment has a bar with 5 pool tables and flat screen televisions for your conveniences. We offer a variety of non-alcoholics and alcoholics beverages. While it is not mandatory to be over 18 years old to have access to the bar, we require a piece of identification with photo, that proves the legal age, to anybody that appears to be less than 30 years old that would like to get an alcoholic beverage. We have to be extremely strict due to the presence of minors in the establishment.
  • Please note that Karts are considered as a motor vehicle. The law regarding driving a kart under the influence of alcohol or other substances is the same as for you car.
  • We reserve ourselves the right to deny access to the track to anybody that appears to be under the influence of alcohol or any other illegal substances.
  • The bartenders reserve themselves the right to refuse to sell alcoholic beverages to anybody going on the race track.
  • Since our establishment does not serve food, we do allow our customers to bring their own food or to order for delivery at our location. On the other end, we do not allow outside drinks, whether it’s alcohol or not. IMPORTANT: The law prohibits outside alcohol in our establishment, we will confiscate any alcohol not originating from our establishment, no warning will be given; it’s the law.
